Owners: White Star Line (usually identified as 'The Aberdeen' White Star Line, and operated by George Thompson and Co.) Sold 1880 to Richard Grice and John Benn (and registered at Melbourne.) By this time, rigged down to a barque. July 1884 sold to Burns, Philp and Co. Ltd., Sydney and converted to a hulk and stationed at Thursday Island where the vessel was broken up in 1894/5. Well known in the Australian passenger trades before sale to Australian owners and general cargo work].

Built as a China Tea Clipper and then moved into the Australian trades where she became very famous and said to have been one of the fastest clippers in the trade].

A researcher provided the following information: 'This is not Kings County of 1890, which is a 4 mast barque, whereas the photo is of a barque with 3 masts. It could be 1871 Kings County built by J. E. Steele in Nova Scotia 858GT?'.

Owners: John Trager and James Ewan, registered Sydney, May 1875 Charles Dowdell, William Belbin and James Riddle (also master) registered Hobart Town: Dec. 80 Charles Dowdell: May 1887 Richard Honey, registered Port Adelaide: March 1889 Honey re-registers the vessel at Fremantle. She was sold to foreigners at Singapore in 1893. No further information. Was built as a 3 mast schooner rigged vessel and re-rigged as a barque in 1872. Intended to be a tea clipper between China, Hong Hong and Australian ports. Reference: 'Wooden Hookers of Hobart Town' page 114]. A researcher has provided the following information: 'this Port appears to be Hobart Town, with Mount Wellington in the background. The master is Captain James Riddle, who became Hobart's Harbour Master on 1 July 1879. The 'Mary Blair' was run in the China trade, captained by James Riddle, until he became Hobart Town Harbour Master on 1 July 1879, when he handed over the 'Mary Blair' to Captain Boon. The 'Mary Blair' was sold to Richard Mooney (or Money) and the registration of the ship was transferred to Adelaide in April 1887'.

In 1922 owned by M Hogan and AF Watchlin, and registered at Suva. Register closed in August 1927 with 'broken up and burnt'].

Built 1878 (2) Dyer, Shoreham. Owners: R Berridge, registered London. Missing. On a voyage from Newcastle to Mauritius with coal she passed Goode Island April 21, 1892 and was not seen again. Goode Island is near Thursday Island]. A researcher suggests that the port shown is Melbourne as the legend on the building behind is 'Manufacturers Fergusson & Mitchell Stationers'. This firm operated in Australia and NZ in the late 19th century.
