J. Johnston's residence at Oakbank. Brothers James and Andrew Johnston arrived in South Australia from Scotland in 1839. They opened up country in the Onkaparinga Valley and named the township Oakbank after the Scottish town from came from. They founded a brewery in 1845 which manufactured cordial after 1938
