Old Court House, Burra (Redruth) Originally The Burra consisted of three small towns - Redruth, Kooringa and Aberdeen. The Redruth Court House was erected in1857. In 1864 the original single storey court house was enlarged, the roof raised and a clerk's room added. In 1878 a porch was added.

Smelter chimney at the mines Burra. Information supplied by a researcher : The smelts chimney, when built in the 1850s was the tallest structure in Australia and was demolished in the 1950s because young boys used to climb to the top, about 100 feet tall. The photograph shows the Welsh Haulage Engine Chimney which was built in 1876. It is a square stone chimney with a cement capping. Welsh chimneys were square while Cornish chimneys were round.

Town Hall, Burra was originally the Mechancis and Miners Institute and was opened in 1857. A new Institute was opened on the site in 1874. It held the library, museum, education classes and lectures. TheCorporation of the Town of Burra was proclaimed in 1876.

'Interior of the mine', one of four scenes engraved for a newspaper page for the "Illustrated London News", 2 December 1848, and later hand-coloured, about the Burra Burra Copper Mine, and based on the 1847 watercolour by S.T. Gill. A man in the foreground holding a candle may be Gill, who is watching a 'tributer' ramming home a charge of gunpowder.

Navy Day celebrations at Burra in South Australia; spectators gathered together on an Oval are watching men in naval uniform, and women dressed in white playing music with brass instruments and drums near a large model of a four funnelled battleship. A researcher has suggested that this photograph was taken on the steps of the Town Hall, looking towards the Burra Creek. In the background can be seen the frame work of the old wooden swing bridge, and on the right hand side, behind the trees, the Paxton Square cottages can be seen.
