Photographs of buildings, gardens and grounds and other infrastructure of Marbury School. Buildings pictured include Wairoa, Wairoa Gatehouse, Burnham Brae, Beechwood, Girrawheen (Keroma), the Barn, camp house at Jindabyne and the new Primary School, including the opening in May 1994. There are interior views of some buildings, including Beechwood and Wairoa. Records also include photographs relating to the arrival and removal of the 'Onkaparinga' railway carriage and the construction of a footbridge. Photographs 82-88 are large composite photographs showing the construction of the new Primary School, and are held separately in OUTSIZE 6.

Album of people, places and events on Eyre Peninsula and the west coast of South Australia during the years 1929-1934

A collection of 329 photographs of people, events and places on the Eyre Peninsula and west coast of South Australia. Places include Tallala Well, Thevenard, Wirrulla, Poochera, Minnipa, Wudinna, Mount Wedge, Haslam, Carawa, Laura Bay, Perlubie, Venus Bay, Elliston, Coulta, Tod River, Poonindie, Tumby Bay, Verran, Cleve, Arno Bay, Cowell, Kimba, Whyalla, Penong, Iron Knob. The album contains photographs which document the Back to Port Lincoln Carnival celebrations, 7-14 February 1930; photographs taken at Ceduna of the Western Australian Centenary Air Race 1929 (also known as the East- West Air Race); the refuelling stop at Ceduna of the inaugural flight of Air Mail services between Adelaide and Perth 1929 and the 130th Anniversary of the Landing of Matthew Flinders at Boston Bay, 26 February 1932. A number of sailing ships and motor vessels visiting Boston Bay between 1929 and 1933 were photographed, among them Melbourne, Olive Bank, Hougomont, Viking, Phasianella, Minnipa, King Stephen, Moonta, Rhymney, L'Avenir, Grootekerk and the new aircraft carrier HMAS Albatross which was first commissioned in 1929. The photographs include some interesting images of farming and transportation on the far west coast of South Australia, and show glimpses of the lives of Aboriginal people at that time, at Poonindie Mission, Koonibba Mission, Fowler's Bay and Ceduna region. The photographs in this collection were taken by E. F. Derbyshire during the years 1929-1933, when he was a commercial traveller for Clarkson Limited of Adelaide, suppliers of builders' tools and hardware. The album shows aspects of station life at various sheep properties in the far north east of South Australia and the Broken Hill region, among them Buckalow, Bimbowrie, Oulnina Park, Telechie, Burta, Topar, Tantallon and Yalcowinna as well as visits to other stations in New South Wales and Victoria namely Morundah, Widgeongully and Tolarno. Three young women thought to be Grace Langloh Parker (1895-1987) and her sisters Wilga Maud (1898-?) and Una Geraldine Davidson, nee Parker (1901-1986) are central to many of the photographs and it may be that the album was compiled by Grace Parker. Holiday visits were made to Victor Harbor, Port Elliot, Inman Valley, Second Valley, Mount Gambier, Portland Victoria, Sydney and Tasmania. A number of photographs relate to the BHP towns, Iron Knob and Broken Hill. Two of the Parker daughters, thought to be Wilga and Grace, accompanied their Mother on a voyage from Sydney to the Celebes and Java in 1926, including sightseeing at Macassar in the Celebes, the Mount Bromo Volcano, Sand Sea, Borobodur, and other places in Java with the homeward voyage via Singapore, Port Darwin, Thursday Island and Cairns.

A collection of eight photographs from Nancy Tiggemann, who worked at Charles Birk's department store from 1937 to 1981 (she started work at age 15, in the Millinery Department until 1966/67, and then in the office). The photographs show floral decorations in honour of the visit of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh in 1954. See 'contents' for details.

Album relating to early South Australia and Northern Territory

Photographs, sketches and news clippings pasted onto loose album pages, relating to the early history of South Australia and the Northern Territory. Includes captioned photographs of the kangaroo hunting expedition near Lake Albert in November 1867 at which Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, was a guest. Other items in the albums include photographs and copies of sketches of Aboriginal people, and images of surveyors and land selectors in the Northern Territory. A number of unrelated clippings and images have been added to the album, possibly by Daly's children.
