Photograph of a group of three Girl Guides, taken on 26th October 1956. At left is Meredith Rowe, the girl in middle is Maxine Millowick, and Janice Millard at right. The photo was taken just prior to the announcement that Maxine Millowick from this group had been selected to become part of the Australian BP Contingent of Girl Guides which travelled overseas to attend the World Guide Camp at Windsor in 1957. The camp was held to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting and Guiding. The contingent spent 6 months travelling and camping in the UK, being hosted by British Girl Guides and friends. They also stayed at the international Girl Guide facility, Our Chalet, in Switzerland.
