Diary of Charles Johnston
Diary kept by Charlie Johnston while station master at the Daly Waters telegraph station. The almost daily entries chronicle his day-to-day activities, including interaction with the local Aborigines. The main diary runs from 16 March 1872 to 6 October 1873, including working on the Overland Telegraph Line with references to Charles Todd, and a folio page covering the period 16 June 1875 - 28 June 1875. The last entry (Monday 29 June 1875) is written in another hand detailing Johnston's death following a spearing. A ditigal transcript is available.

Papers of the Thomas family, pioneers, comprising a diary, reminiscences and letters by Mary Thomas describing the voyage of the 'Africaine' in 1836 and life in the colony. Includes several letters by Robert Thomas, including a letter to the Colonial Office protesting offical deference to Aboriginal occupation, extracts from the diary of Mary Thomas, daughter, Margaret Robert and correspondence and a scrapbook of Sir Robert Kyffin Thomas, grandson. Also contains Thomas and Harris family wills, marriage certificates and associated papers, memorances, papers and a wax seal related to the Thomas family history, and versions of the Diary of Mary Thomas. Report of North West journey by Ernest Kramer
Typescript report of journey north west and north of Alice Springs, covering 700 miles, in August 1931, visiting Aboriginal communities and stations. Places mentioned are Napperby Station, Gidgea Creek, Conistan Station, Mount Leichhardt, Mount Peake Station, Barrow Creek, Stirling Station, Central Mount Stuart, Woolla Downs and Harper Springs stations.(See series 25 for Kramer's map which shows these places).
Nautilus shells once belonging to Gladys Elphick
This series contains three nautilus shells which were very important to Aboriginal women; every seven years women from Port Pearce would weave nets to collect the shells as the tide flowed in. The shells were then roasted on a fire, and the animal inside was eaten like an oyster. Afterwards the shells were hung on a tree and eventually carried up north where they were exchanged for other women's things. Each shell is approximately 8 cm x 5.7 cm x 5 cm.
