Cake for Soldiers

"Untie Sis and Untie Ems Cake for Soldiers", made at Christmas 1941, and personalised for each soldier. A researcher has suggested that Sis Thomas and Emmence Dunsford could be the 'unties' referred to. The names on the cakes match with the names of soldiers listed on the Crystal Brook WW2 Roll of Honour Board. These soldiers include Aaron Hamlyn, Jim Philis, Peter Dennis, Wally Liersch, Edwin Coventry, Roy Scott, bert Mathews, Fred Turner, Eric Lawson, Neil Gum, Frank McBride, Les Thredgold, Dudley Noblett, Mick Rabbitt, Reg Knaggs, Eric Crouch, Jack Ellis, Jack Lawson, Bill Inglis, Lloyd Sims, Bob Ellis, Rex Liersch, Roy Hardyand Doug Sims.
