Summary

[General description] A crowd lines the centre of King William Street to see the Eight Hours Day procession pass by with various union groups marching, holding their banners aloft, the floats are horse-drawn. North Terrace buildings provide an attractive backdrop to the scene. [On back of photograph] 'An Eight Hours Day procession / 1895-97 / King William Street / West side / Looking south from a point a little south of Grenfell Street'.
