Summary

[General description] H.J. Tabe's Service Station, which does motor repairs and greasing, has several bowsers (under the Shell sign). Advertisements for Shell, Waratah, Castrol, Willard and Texaco products are displayed. Note the telephone box at the kerb. [On back of photograph] 'Acre 393 / South corner of Gouger Street and West Terrace / 7 April 1939 / Petrol station erected in1938 on a vacant site / The far end of the brick building on the left is 29 yards east of West Terrace / West Terrace frontage (extending to the north wall of the cottage on the right) is 19 yards' (Another hand) 'For alteration made in 1949 and 1951 see B 12426'.
