Summary

[General description] Head and shoulders portrait of the subject, facing slightly to the right. He is wearing a spade beard and moustache. Born into an orthodox Jewish family in Adelaide, he was a businessman with a wide variety of interests. He owned and edited the 'Northern Territory Times and Gazette' and later went into politics. He was South Australia's shortest serving Premier, from 1st to 8th December, 1899. [On back of photograph] 'Vaiben Louis Solomon'.
