Summary

The War Horse Memorial trough was unveiled in Victoria Square in January 1923 and for some time supplied water for the working horses that travelled to and from the nearby Central Market. The memorial was moved to its current location, next to the Light Horse memorial opposite the entrance to the Botanic Gardens, in April 1967.
