Summary

Grand Central Hotel on the south east corner of Rundle Street and Pulteney Street. On Rundle Street the combined frontage of the Grand Central Hotel and the Foy and Gibson Store is 91 yards. The Grand Central Hotel has a frontage of 40 yards on Pulteney Street. This hotel built in 1910 was built on the site of another hotel, the York Hotel. The facade of the 5 storey hotel was decorated with pilasters, mouldings, bay windows with the corner bay windows capped with an open turret. Two years after this photograph was taken the hotel was bought by the department store Foy and Gibsons.
