Summary

The Observatory Telescope, with astronomer Mr G.F. Dodwell. On 21st September 1922 Dodwell photographed the total solar eclipse in northern South Australia in order to cooperate with foreign astronomers in an early study on Einstein's theory on the effects of gravity on the propagation of light. He discovered the comet C/1932 Y1 (Dodwell/Forbes). He wrote "The Obliquity of the Ecliptic", Ancient, Mediaeval and modern observations of the obliquity of the Ecliptic, in the ancient times and up to the present". Obliquity of the Ecliptic refers to the tilt of the Earth's axis. Dodwell also coordinated a magnetic magnetic of South Australia.
