Opalotype portrait of Michael Reilly, which has been tinted (face) and overpainted (shirt, tie and jacket). Michael Reilly was born in Cross Keys, in Cavan, Ireland in 1849, and arrived in Adelaide on 1 October 1859 on the 'Lady Ann' aged 10 years. He married Bridget Smith (d.10 March 1886) at Seven Hill on 15 August 1878, and they had five children: Ellen (b.25 November 1879), Bridget (b.19 December 1880), Mary Theresa (b.6 August 1882), Thomas (b.24 March 1884), and Michael (b.19 January 1886). Died 30 May 1905.
