Holden's project 320 and 48-215 prototypes

Black and white photographs associated with Project 320, which was released onto the market as the first Australian car, Holden's 48-215 [FX]. Includes images of the initial prototype of the 48-215 [FX], which was hand made in the United States and registered in Michigan as BK-46-48. This vehicle was car number 19525 from Project 2000, this project then became Project 320. Also contains images of prototype No.1 of the 48-215 [FX] at Woodville, registration number JP-480, prototype No.4 (KJ-400), and prototype no.5 (KY-442), and the results of some accident damage to one of the vehicles.

Jigsaw puzzle titled 'The Restoration - Australia'. A 750 piece unopened puzzle (code 84/2) manufactured by Taylor McPherson Pty.Ltd, Coburg, Victoria, featuring a green Holden 48/215 [FX] parked at the entrance of a workshop, with a number of people closely inspecting the car. The side inscription reads 'On November 29, 1948 the first Holden officially rolled off the assembly line at Fishermen's Bend, Victoria. Commonly called the FX, but code named the 48/215 Holden, it was a 5-6 seater sedan which originally sold for A ₤733. It was powered by a 132.3 cubic inch O.H.V. six cylinder engine. 120,402 were built between 1948 and 1953 when it was superseded by the FJ Holden'.
