Photograph of Arthur C. Garnett and his wife Margaret. Arthur Campbell Garnett was born in South Australia and was Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Adelaide in 1924. He later became Professor of Philosophy at the University of Wisconsin in the United States. Garnett died on September 19, 1970 in Fort Worth, Texas. For more information see Memorial resolution of the Faculty of the University of Wisconsin on the death of Emeritus Professor Arthur Campbell Garnett, which is held in the South Australiana collection.

His collection was bequeathed to the South Australian Museum. He devised methods of protecting wheat from pests and copra crops from the coconut moth.
