Photograph of Arthur C. Garnett and his wife Margaret. Arthur Campbell Garnett was born in South Australia and was Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Adelaide in 1924. He later became Professor of Philosophy at the University of Wisconsin in the United States. Garnett died on September 19, 1970 in Fort Worth, Texas. Arthur Mills Lea, S.A. Museum entomologist, insect collector and public servant. His most enduring passion was the study of beetles. He could cite 1853 new species of beetles. His collection was bequeathed to the South Australian Museum. He devised methods of protecting wheat from pests and copra crops from the coconut moth.
